Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – 43 – year old Collin Terrazas is in custody after he was identified as the suspect in a murder on Saturday in Northeast Albuquerque near Lomas and San Pedro.
APD SWAT officers arrested Terrazas today Sunday at the parking lot of the Journal Center in north Albuquerque.
According to APD, Terrazas, is accused of stabbing and possibly shooting Dante Conley, 34, at Conley’s home in the 1100 block of Arizona St., N.E. Police say Terrazas allegedly tried to start a fire at the house before leaving in the victim’s black Lexus SUV.
APD officers arrived during the day Saturday after responding to a 911 call from neighbors and that’s when the found Terrazas, who was deceased at the scene.
Neighbors told police they heard suspicious activity at the home and saw a blue Ford F-150 pickup backed into Conley’s yard during the early-morning hours on Saturday. They also noticed that Conley’s black Lexus was missing.
Detectives later learned that Terrazas went to a smoke shop on San Pedro Dr., S.E. around 6:55 a.m., nearly three hours after the incident at Conley’s home.
Detectives repkrted that Terrazas allegedly told an employee at the smoke shop that he killed someone, took money, a gun, and a vehicle, and set the house on fire. The report states that the employee reported Terraza’s hands were covered in blood and he said he slashed someone’s throat. The employee also stated that Terraza referred to himself as “Michael the Archangel.”
Detectives located the black Lexus today (Sunday) and attempted to make contact with Terrazas in a parking lot at the Journal Center SWAT officers were called to the scene and took Terrazas into custody.
Terrazas is charged with an open count of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and tampering with evidence.
