Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – Santa Fe Mayor Michael Garcia is proposing a $25 million bond issue that if approved by the city council would go before voters in the November election.
If approved, the money would fund various road and sidewalk improvements, projects at SWAN Park and the Municipal Recreation Complex and construction work at the city’s midtown campus.
The City Council needs to approve the proposal to add the bonds to the general election ballot during Wednesday’s city council meeting. Passage of the bond issue would mean a property tax increase for home and business owners. Garcia is proposing four different ballot measures, which would allow voters to approve or reject each one separately.
