Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Rep. Veronica Escobar of El Paso has criticized the city’s Chamber of Commerce’s effort to rename one of the city’s most important international crossings. The renaming proposal for the Bridge of Americas was put forward by Paul Dipp, President of Economy Wholesale Grocers, who suggested naming the border crossing the Donald J. Trump Bridge of the Americas. Escobar questioned why the Chamber was focusing on renaming the bridge while businesses and consumers face economic challenges. While Dipp says, that a recognition of President Trump’s commitment to American industry with a modernized bridge that keeps this important trade route moving would be a fitting monument to his vision.”
