Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The effort to rename Avenida Cesar Chavez in Albuquerque is moving forward, but some residents say the process has been slow and confusing. The city began considering a new name earlier this year following allegations against labor leader Cesar Chavez. After two public meetings and community feedback, the most popular choice appears to be Stadium Boulevard, the street’s original name. The proposal is now headed to Albuquerque City Council for consideration, although city officials say a final vote could still be months away.
