Failed Election Blame for APS

ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOL OFFICIALS ARE STILL REELING FROM THE DEFEAT OF THEIR BOND ISSUE AND MILL LEVY. DAVID PEERCY, PRESIDENT OF THE SCHOOL BOARD AT APS, SAYS HE TAKES PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ITS FAILURE. HE TELLS KOB-TV IT WAS HIS JOB TO TELL CONSTITUENTS THE POSITIVE INITIATIVES APS WOULD HAVE PUT IN PLACE HAD THE BOND ISSUE AND MILL LEVY PASSED. HE SAYS THAT WOULD HAVE ELIMINATED THE MISINFORMATION AND INACCURACIES THAT WERE CIRCULATING IN THE COMMUNITY.

BUT SOME APS OFFICIALS ARE CRITICAL OF HOW THE MEDIA COVERED THE ELECTION AND RELATED ISSUES INVOLVED. STILL, THEY ALL SAY IT’S BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD NOW TO REVIEW HOW TO DEAL WITH THE DISTRICT SHORT AND LONG TERM PROJECTS.
