Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Residents in Santa Fe will see their minimum wage salary go up starting March 1st. Santa Fe’s living wage will increase to $15.40 beginning March 1st, an increase of 40 cents from last year. Santa Fe adopted a policy to adjust the living wage annually back in 2007 based on the cost of living and to keep pace with inflation. Santa Fe’s living wage ordinance allows employers to count tips toward the living wage requirement for employees who regularly earn $100 a month or more in tips or commission. Next year’s living wage will see a significant increase to $17.50. The federal minimum wage remains at $7.25 and has been since 2009.
