Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Two finalists have been selected for the position of Santa Fe Police Chief. In a release, the City of Santa Fe announced that Interim Police Chief Ben Valdez and former Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza are the two finalists for the city’s next police chief. A national search was held focusing on leadership experience, public safety expertise, organizational management and a commitment to building trust between the Santa Fe Police Department and the community. The announcement states Interim chief Valdez is a longtime member of the Santa Fe Police Department and would bring extensive experience in law enforcement and department operations to the job. Former SF County Sheriff Mendoza’s qualifications includes years of law enforcement leadership experience, including experience overseeing a large public safety organization. Members of the public can meet both finalists on Thursday, October 1st from 11am to 1pm at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center
