Rio Rancho, NM (KKOB) – Newly released state data shows Rio Rancho schools are making the grade. New education scores show big gains in math, reading, and writing. The Colinas Del Norte students charted some of the biggest improvements in New Mexico for a medium-sized school. It now leads the state in literacy growth, sitting at 13.8 points as part of a one-year growth period.
Two other elementary schools improved in literacy: Vista Elementary and Ernest Stapleton, while Rio Rancho Elementary improved in science, and Vista Elementary improved in mathematics. Rio Rancho Public Schools says they have a goal for every one of their schools to earn spotlight status by 2030, which is New Mexico’s highest school accountability program.
