ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — PNM is urging customers across New Mexico to prepare for potentially severe weather this week as forecasters predict widespread storms capable of producing strong winds, lightning, flooding, and power outages.
The utility says it is closely monitoring weather conditions and has crews positioned throughout the state to respond to outage reports as safely and quickly as possible. Additional support personnel are also on standby if needed.
PNM officials say severe weather can develop rapidly, leading to hazardous conditions and interruptions to electric service.

- Report downed lines immediately to 911 and PNM.
- Prepare an emergency outage kit with flashlights, batteries, water, non-perishable food, and first-aid supplies.
- Fully charge phones, portable chargers, and backup medical equipment.
- Use flashlights rather than candles during outages to reduce fire risks.
