Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –New water restrictions are now in effect for the town of Taos. Despite recent rainfall the record drought has continued to put a strain on groundwater levels and well production prompting the new restrictions. In addition, two wells in the town remain offline for repairs. The new restrictions prohibit outdoor watering with sprinkler systems, vehicle washing and drip irrigation systems are limited to one hour one day per week and outdoor washing of buildings, streets and sidewalks is prohibited. The town of Taos is asking residents, businesses and visitors to comply with the new restrictions.
