Albuquerque. NM (KKOB) – A 33-year old man is in jail in connection with a traffic fatality Friday afternoon on Central Ave in Southeast Albuquerque.
Demetrius Thomas, is charged with Homicide by Motor Vehicle, Driving While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident resulting in Death. The crash happened at 1:30 p.m. in the area of Central Ave. and Texas St.
According to APD, a female pedestrian was crossing south across Central Ave, east of Texas. A Ford SUV traveling east on Central struck the woman and then fled the area. The woman, who has not been identified, died at the scene.
Thomas, the driver, then returned to the scene and was arrested by APD’s Fatal Crash Unit.
