Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A fatal shooting that took place last Friday in Tres Piedras west of Taos is still under investigation by NM State Police. The shooting occurred during a reported home invasion in the small unincorporated Taos County community. NMSP Public Information Officer, Amanda Richards confirmed that 46 year old Steven Gutierrez was killed in the shooting. She went on to say officers responded to the residence after receiving a call that the homeowner shot Gutierrez after the man entered the residence. No charges have been filed so far, and the incident remains under investigation
