Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Illegal drone activity coming from Mexico into NM is the reason for Senate Bill 136. The bill would crack down on illicit cartel drone activity along the border. Rob Hart of the Organized Crime Commission, one of the supporters of the bill, says “thousands of illegal flights are happening in NM.” Bernalillo County DA Sam Bregman stated, “We know drones are absolutely being used to do surveillance,” and expressed the urgency of the situation. There are currently no laws in NM addressing drones being used in criminal activity. The bill has to pass in the senate to reach the Governor’s desk.
