ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Albuquerque Police are investigating a deadly incident early Tuesday morning after a man reported being struck by a vehicle near Lomas and San Pedro.
APD says officers were dispatched around 4:30 a.m. to the area for a possible crash involving a pedestrian. The man was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
According to investigators, Albuquerque Community Safety responders were the first to make contact with the man after receiving a call about someone needing help. ACS found him lying in a parking lot with injuries. The man told responders he had been hit by a vehicle in the area.
He was taken to the hospital with a fractured ankle and head injuries but died shortly after arriving.
APD’s Fatal Crash Unit is leading the investigation. No additional details about the vehicle or potential suspects have been released.
