Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- Starting tonight and for the next two nights, northbound and southbound I-25 will be closed from the Montgomery Blvd. off-ramp to the Montgomery on-ramp. The closure will start at 8 p.m. till 6 a.m., tonight and again on Wednesday night. The closure of the freeway will allow NMDOT crews to install bridge beams for the Montgomery Blvd. bridge over I-25.
Traffic on I-25 will be detoured onto the Pan American Frontage RD and Montgomery Blvd will also be shutdown at the same time.
Traffic from Montgomery will be detoured to Comanche Road through Carlisle Boulevard and Jefferson Street on the east side of I-25 and Culture Drive and Edith Boulevard on the west side of I-25.
According to NMDOT, this bridge beam work marks a major project milestone in widening the Montgomery Boulevard bridge and improving safety and travel reliability along this critical corridor.
