Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The Cibola National Forest and National Grasslands is planning prescribed burns for two areas in NM due to the favorable weather conditions. Prescribed burns are planned for areas three miles south of Magdalena and adjacent to the communities of Hop and Patterson Canyon. Another prescribed burn is planned for up to 300 acres in the Gallinas Mountains in Torrance County, southeast of Willard and 15 miles northwest of Corona. Officials say smoke may be visible in the areas as work could take several days to complete. Some areas may be closed to the public for safety reasons and you’re asked to watch for warning signs along roads near all prescribed fire areas during burns. https://nmfireinfo.com/
