Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Another teenager involved in the killing of 16-year-old Jesus Quintana Cota has been sentenced to 22 years in prison.
Prosecutors say Dominik Marques is one of three teens accused of luring the victim, then kidnapping, robbing, and murdering him before leaving his body in the Pajarito Mesa desert in the summer of 2024.
Investigators say the group planned the attack ahead of time, which the state argued showed clear intent and justified a tougher sentence. The defense pushed for less time because of Marques’ age, but the judge sided with the state’s recommendation. Another teen, Mariana Gomez, was previously sentenced to 18 years, while the third suspect, Daniel Medrano, has not yet gone to trial.
