Traffic is being diverted off the interstate at the State Road 6 exit and then drivers will be allowed back on I-40.
Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – I-40 west of Albuquerque has been shutdown for several hours this morning due to a fatal crash. New Mexico State Police closed the eastbound lanes of I-40 west of Albuquerque as they investigate the fatal crash.
NMSP says the crash involved at least 2 vehicles and that one person was killed.
It is unknown for how long traffic will be affected by the interstate closure.
