ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – If you were planning to say “I do” at Bernalillo County Metro Court’s annual Valentine’s Day mega marriage event, you’ll need to make other plans. The courthouse says the tradition is off this year because Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday, and the court is closed on weekends.
Judges will still officiate weddings for free, but couples will have to schedule individual ceremonies instead of the usual large group celebration. So, if you want to tie the knot on February 14, you’ll need to make separate arrangements—love may be timeless, but the court calendar isn’t.
