ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Actor and director Timothy Busfield, known for roles in Thirtysomething and The West Wing, surrendered to Albuquerque authorities Monday after an arrest warrant was issued last week. The 68-year-old faces two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse.
The charges stem from allegations involving two young boys who appeared on the set of the Fox series The Cleaning Lady between 2022 and 2024. Investigators say Busfield developed a close relationship with the children and that inappropriate contact occurred during production. Court documents indicate Busfield later admitted to tickling the boys but denied any wrongdoing.
Before turning himself in, Busfield released a video statement saying, “I did not do anything wrong … I’m going to fight it.” He remains in custody and is expected to appear in court soon.
