ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Drivers in southeast Albuquerque should expect delays as crews work to replace a 90-year-old steel waterline along Carlisle Boulevard.
The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority says the southbound lane of Carlisle is closed from Carlisle Place SE to Ross Avenue SE. Detours are posted in the area, and officials expect the project to be completed by the end of February.
The waterline replacement is part of ongoing infrastructure improvements aimed at maintaining reliable service for surrounding neighborhoods. Crews are working to replace aging steel pipes that have been in place for nearly a century.
Officials say the closure is necessary for the safety of workers and commuters. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes.
