Albuquerque,NM (KKOB) – Albuquerque Police have made an arrest in connection with the city’s first murder of the year which happened early this morning in downtown. 18-year old Peyton Reagan, was arrested shortly after officers heard gunshots in the area of Gold Ave. and 8th St. Just before 3 A.M.
Officers, saw a man, later identified as Reagan, running westbound on Gold Ave toward 8th St., carrying what appeared to be a rifle. Officers took Reagan into custody at the corner of 8th St., and Gold Ave.
According to police, officers searched the area where Reagan was running from and saw a blue Ford parked facing westbound on Gold Ave., between 7th St and 8th St. that’s when they located the victim, identified as Alexander Wilson, 25, who had multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Reagan was taken to a local hospital after he had trouble breathing. He was later taken to APD’s Main police station and was booked into the Metro Detention Center on an open count of murder, conspiracy, tampering with evidence and attempted robbery.
