Bosque Brewing, one of New Mexico’s most recognized craft breweries, closed its Nob Hill location and remaining taprooms in late December. The announcement followed a federal judge’s dismissal of the brewery’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Earlier in the year, Bosque had already shut down its Santa Fe locations and two Albuquerque taprooms, signaling the end of an era for the brand.
Canvas Artistry Restaurant & Art Bar, a downtown favorite known for blending food and art, announced its closure in late December. Its last night of service will be New Year’s Eve, with the official closure on January 1, 2026. Management says catering services will continue while the business restructures for the future.
In October, The Farmacy, a popular brunch spot on Central Avenue, closed after filing for emergency bankruptcy. Owners cited declining revenue, rising costs, and complications from opening a second restaurant in California as reasons for shutting down.
The Range Café also made headlines when it closed its Central Avenue location in mid-December after nearly two decades. The company emphasized that the decision was related to the building and confirmed that other locations remain open and operating.
One of the most notable closures was Scalo, a fine dining Italian restaurant in Nob Hill that had been a staple for nearly 40 years. The restaurant announced its closure in August, citing financial losses and an inability to find a buyer.
Other closures included Sobremesa, which abruptly shut down its westside location in September; Voodoo Girl Pizza & Pints, which closed in late August; and Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro, which ended its 22-year run in May without providing a specific reason.
These closures highlight the challenges faced by local restaurants in a post-pandemic economy, where rising costs and shifting consumer trends continue to reshape the dining landscape.
