ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – With Christmas just a week away, Albuquerque post offices are gearing up for one of the busiest mailing weeks of the year. The U.S. Postal Service expects to surpass last year’s holiday volume of 188 billion pieces of mail and packages.
If you’re sending gifts, today is the deadline for Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail to arrive by Christmas. Priority Mail must be sent by December 18, and Express Mail by December 23. USPS officials recommend visiting in the morning to avoid long lines or using self-service kiosks.
For other carriers, FedEx Ground and Home Delivery also have a deadline today, while UPS Three Day Select must be shipped by Friday.
