Washington D.C (KKOB) – The country could soon be recognizing lowriders if a resolution by Congresswoman Teresa Leger-Fernandez is approved by congress. Fernandez has introduced a resolution promoting a National Lowrider Day on the first Saturday in May.
Fernandez, says the move honors a tradition that has shaped art, music, and culture across the country. The Smithsonian Museum of American History is already showcasing lowrider culture through two exhibits — one in Washington, D.C., called “Corazon y Vida: Lowrider Culture” and a traveling exhibit “Lowrider Culture in the United States which is visiting communities nationwide through 2029.
