MADRID, N.M. — New Mexico State Police are asking for the public’s help in an ongoing homicide investigation from August.
On August 9, 2025, around 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a gunshot victim on NM Highway 14 near Milepost 29. The victim, identified as Patrick Wheeler, was shot after an unidentified man on a motorcycle fired into Wheeler’s vehicle. Wheeler later died from his injuries.
Investigators are seeking any information that could help identify the suspect, including photos, videos, or statements.
