ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO – Albuquerque Fire Rescue responded to the Embudito Trailhead late Tuesday morning after reports of an injured hiker. Crews were dispatched around 11:47 a.m. and located the patient in a backcountry area.
AFR units used a wheeled stokes basket to safely bring the hiker out. Technical Rescue Teams assisted with the extraction, along with responding partners from New Mexico State Police, Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, and APD Open Space.
The hiker was treated on scene by AFR personnel and later released. No injuries were reported among rescuers. Officials say no additional details are available at this time.
