Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – A woman convicted in a 2024 Albuquerque road-rage incident is now in custody after missing her court-ordered surrender date.
The woman found guilty of shooting a man during a 2024 road-rage incident is finally headed to prison. 36-year-old Heather Lopez was sentenced to three years for aggravated battery after rear-ending a driver, then shooting him twice as he walked away. A judge allowed her additional time to self-surrender, but she failed to show by the December 2025 deadline. Lopez was arrested Tuesday on a felony warrant by Bernalillo County DA special agents and will now serve her sentence.
