Santa Fe, NM (KKOB) – Opening statements begin today in New Mexico’s lawsuit against Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram.
Prosecutors say the company has not done enough to protect children and teens from sexual exploitation or sexual content on its platforms. The lawsuit was brought against Meta after a lengthy investigation by the New Mexico Department of Justice. Meta denies the allegations. A judge has also denied Meta’s request not to allow live streaming or recording of the trial. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is expected to testify at the trial with is expected to last six weeks.
