Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller announced who will be the city’s interim police chief.
Cecily Barker was named by the Mayor on Wednesday.
Barker first joined APD in 2004, according to the Albuquerque Police website.
She had been serving as a Deputy Chief in the Field Services Division before the promotion announcement.
The promotion comes after the retirement of Harold Medina, who served in the police department for more than three decades.
