BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. — Twelve Albuquerque Public Schools students will see their artwork featured across Bernalillo County during the 2026 General Election after being selected as winners of the county’s annual “I Voted” Sticker Contest.
The contest, hosted by the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office in partnership with APS, received approximately 500 submissions from students in grades K through 12. This year’s theme, “Voting Is Your Superpower,” encouraged students to create original artwork highlighting civic participation and the importance of voting.
County officials selected 12 winning designs, with four winners chosen from each grade division. The artwork will be used as the official “I Voted” stickers handed out to voters throughout Bernalillo County during the 2026 General Election.
The contest is part of the Clerk’s Office’s broader effort to introduce students to civic engagement at an early age and help build awareness of the democratic process through creative expression.
“We were so impressed by the creativity and thought the students put into their designs,” Bernalillo County Clerk Michelle Kavanaugh said in a statement. “It’s exciting to see young people connect with voting in their own way, and we can’t wait for our voters to see their artwork this election.”

The student artists will be formally recognized during the Bernalillo County Commission meeting on September 9 at 5 p.m. at Alvarado Square. A reception will follow the ceremony.
County officials thanked participating students, teachers, parents, and APS staff for helping make this year’s contest a success.
