Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen says he’s canceling one of the Sheriff’s Office contracts with Flock Safety as concerns continue over the company’s license plate-reading camera technology. In a video posted Thursday night, Allen said BCSO currently has three contracts with Flock and recently met with company representatives in Georgia. He says he’s now reviewing the agency’s remaining agreements. The move comes as questions persist about the technology’s ability to track vehicle movements and store data. Flock has said new privacy policies will be implemented by January 1.
