Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – An Albuquerque caregiver will remain behind bars after she was accused of sexually assaulting an elderly man. Police said earlier this month Stephanie Paiz was at Ativo Senior Living in northwest Albuquerque where she was hired by family to take care of a 77-year-old man with dementia according to the President of Insight, the company that owns and manages Ativo.
According to police during the incident, Paiz locked the door to the man’s room, and was seen on security video sexually assaulting him.
Employees at the facility were able to unlock the door and stop her and detain her. She is charged with four sex related charges.
