Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – An Albuquerque woman is facing a murder charge after a woman who was stabbed on Friday August 21, died on Sunday.
52-year-old Geraldine Begay was arrested after police say she stabbed a woman in the shoulder Friday at the French Quarter Apartments, near San Mateo and Gibson. The victim was identified as 59-year-old Crystal Markum. Begay was initially charged with Aggravated Battery. Her charge will be upgraded to an open count of murder.
Begay was arrested previously for another incident back in 2023 where the victim died but she never went to trial because she was declared incompetent to stand trial
