Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Neighborhoods across Albuquerque will take part in National Night Out tonight with community events planned across the city. The annual event is aimed at encouraging residents to get to know one another while building stronger relationships with local law enforcement. Block parties, cookouts and gatherings in parks will happen tonight with organizers saying the setting helps create conversations that can strengthen trust and improve communication between residents and officers. City representatives and APD officers are expected to attend many of the registered events tonight giving residents an opportunity to ask questions about crime trends, public safety programs and community resources.
