CARRIZOZO, N.M. — An inmate who escaped from the Lincoln County Detention Center on Tuesday has been captured and returned to custody, according to the Carrizozo Police Department.
Authorities identified the inmate as Ralph Miranda, whose escape prompted a multi-agency search involving the Carrizozo Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, and New Mexico State Police.
Law enforcement officials announced later Tuesday that Miranda had been located and taken back into custody.
Officials have not released details about how Miranda escaped from the detention center, where he was found, or whether any additional charges will be filed as a result of the escape.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities say more information will be released as it becomes available.
