Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Bernalillo County officials announced this week the solid waste team collected over 2700 tires from two illegal dumping locations in the Pajarito Mesa on Albuquerque’s west side. The county says removing the discarded tires helps reduce the wildfire risks, prevents pollution and protects nearby waterways from contamination. The project was funded by a grant from the NM Environment Department.
