Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The Mayor of Las Vegas, David Romero, has issued an Emergency Drought and Fire Risk Directive for the northern NM town as extreme drought and wildfire danger threaten the area. The directive strengthens existing city ordinances and NM law regarding illegal fireworks and prioritizes public safety, wildfire prevention and water conservation. The City of Las Vegas continues to recover from the devastating impacts of the Hermits Peak/Calf Canyon Fire that left significant damage to the city’s water supply
