Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)- Bernalillo County residents will have several opportunities to get their pets microchipped during blitz events the county is promoting to help pet owners protect their animals and increase the chances of a safe return home if they become lost. The county’s Animal Care Services says that with the upcoming holiday period there is often an increase in lost and displaced pets due to travel, gatherings, fireworks, and other activities, Animal Care Services is encouraging residents to take advantage of this free opportunity to have their pets microchipped.
“Every year, we see an increase in lost pets around holiday celebrations,” says Misha Goodman, Animal Care Services Director. “A microchip can make all the difference in helping a pet find its way back home. We encourage residents to take advantage of these free events and ensure their pets have a permanent form of identification.”
