Albuquerque, NM(KKOB)- An Albuquerque teacher is awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a student at a local charter school. Twenty-four-year-old Rejoice Uzo-Hez was convicted on multiple charges, including sexual assault of a child between 13 and 18 by a school employee, criminal sexual contact, and child abuse.
Prosecutors say the incidents involved a female student at Voz Charter School in southeast Albuquerque. Court records show Uzo-Hez was teaching several classes at the school in February 2025.
A sentencing date has not yet been announced.
