Albuquerque, NM – If you’re heading out of town this weekend, be prepared for higher gas prices across New Mexico. AAA New Mexico reports a sharp jump at the pump, with prices climbing noticeably just over the last week. Drivers in Las Cruces are seeing some of the highest costs in the state, while Albuquerque and Santa Fe are also feeling the increase. AAA says the statewide average is now above four dollars a gallon, reflecting rising demand and broader market pressures.
Nationally, prices are even higher, reaching their highest level since 2022 at $4.40 a gallon. The timing isn’t ideal for travelers, as many hit the road for weekend trips and early summer plans.
