Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –The Taos County Sheriff’s office reported that the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge was closed for several hours on Easter Sunday afternoon due to a suicide at the bridge. A caller called 9 1 1 to report that an individual was on his way to the bridge after threatening to harm himself. First responders were unsuccessful at intercepting the individual. The 19 year old’s body has been recovered but his identity has not yet been released. Higher railing construction will begin sometime this summer.
