Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Santa Fe City councilors decided Wednesday night the remaining pieces of the controversial obelisk will be displayed temporarily at the NM History Museum. The Soldier’s Monument was torn down in 2020 by protestors who argued the monument memorializes historical violence against Native Americans. The obelisk will be on loan to the museum while the city determines a permanent solution. No details on when city officials will make a final decision on the monument.
