Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Albuquerque Police say a suspect is in now in custody involved in a road rage shooting that injured two people near Coors Blvd last week. Raul Ruiz Licon is suspected of shooting at another vehicle on March 3rd striking a 30 year-old female and a 17-year-old man. Both victims were rushed to a hospital for treatment. Detectives from APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit identified the suspect after receiving tips from publicized photos of the older model pick truck involved in the shooting. License-plate readers were also used to identify Licon. He was arrested this morning (TUE) at a home in southwest Albuquerque after barricading himself at the property. The arrest resulted in a shelter-in-place at West Mesa High School that lasted about 25 minutes. Licon is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
