Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Higher education projects in NM will be on the ballot November 3rd with voters deciding on $350 million in bonds. If passed the proposal would pay for about 30 projects, including repairs to aging facilities and construction of new academic, research and technology buildings. The largest allocation is for about $116 million for an expansion of UNM’s School of Medicine that could double the size of the medical school’s class and help address NM’s shortage of health care providers. CNM could get $15 million for a technology center while $15 million for a new agriculture and arts building is forecasted for Eastern NM University in Portales. General obligation bonds must receive voter approval and are repaid through property tax revenue
