Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –$30 million in general obligation bonds for flood-control projects will be on Albuquerque area ballots. Officials say the money would go to dozens of improvements without increasing taxes. The bonds would allow the Albuquerque Metropolitan Arroyo Flood Control Authority, or AMAFCA, to borrow money by selling bonds to investors. The funding could support new infrastructure and the rehabilitation of aging channels, arroyos, dams and other drainage facilities, an estimated 30 to 40 projects across the metro. If passed, the money would be spent over several years.
