Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –A change in plea from not guilty to no contest took place in court today for a man who allegedly killed a woman over a motorcycle. In July 2025 police say that Nicholas Lucio and two other men were accused of confronting Ann Marie Chaires at a southeast Albuquerque apartment complex, after the group claimed she sold one of their motorcycles. Court documents state that after Chaires was asked to get the motorcycle back, she refused, which led to one of the men shooting and killing her. Lucio entered an agreement in which he pleaded no contest to conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary. Lucio will be sentenced at a later date.
