BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. — The final week of early voting is underway in Bernalillo County ahead of the 2026 General Election, with county officials encouraging voters who plan to vote absentee by mail to act soon.
According to the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office, Tuesday, Oct. 27, is the last recommended day to return completed absentee ballots by mail to allow enough time for delivery before Election Day.
As of Monday morning, 94,092 ballots had been cast through early in-person voting and absentee voting throughout the county.
Expanded early voting will continue through Saturday, Oct. 31, at 20 locations across Bernalillo County. Most sites are open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. All locations operate as Voting Convenience Centers, allowing registered voters to cast a ballot at any early voting site.
Same-Day Registration is also available at all early voting locations. Eligible voters can register or update their registration and vote during the same visit with the identification required under New Mexico law.
Voters who have not yet returned their absentee ballot by mail can hand-deliver it to a voting location or an official election drop box. All absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3, in order to be counted.
On Election Day, 74 voting locations will be open throughout Bernalillo County from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
