Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) –Millions of dollars are coming to The City of Albuquerque to modernize the Sunport Rail Spur. The City of Albuquerque acquired the stretch of railroad last year. The line dates back to World War II. City officials plan to upgrade six miles of the existing railroad. More than $18 million is coming from a federal grant program for improvements to the track which are intended to spur commercial and industrial growth.
