Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Construction continues on the massive Project Jupiter data center development in southern New Mexico despite recent court orders putting key permits on hold. The facility near Santa Teresa is expected to become one of the largest data centers in the country and support artificial intelligence operations for Oracle and OpenAI. Developers report more than 2,100 construction workers have been on site, although residency information is unavailable for most of those workers. The project remains under scrutiny over water use, environmental concerns, and questions about local hiring.
